Is Automation Killing Personal Training?

There is no doubt about it…

The personal training industry has changed, and is nothing like it used to be.

These changes have been so huge that I see the “traditional personal model” being killed off very quickly.

One headline I saw last week was “84% of Personal Training Businesses Will Be Gone In 2 Years”.

This change I believe is for the better… Though it also means that we have to keep up with the changes.  Or be left behind

Though, this is certainly not all doom-and-gloom. And that’s why I bring on Charles Cooper which is on the cutting edge when it comes to technology and the the personal training world.

Any of your clients can Google, and instantly have more information, answers, training programs and diet choices…

This is where I want us to shift our focus from just being about ‘information’ and truly look at whats needed for ‘transformation’.

As Charles, points out in our interview already technology is catching up in being able to crunch huge amounts of data and provide workout plans that can be tailored to an individual.

DNA and genetic testing is looking into how to create the perfect diet for each person… and many economists are predicting the technology boom to be coming very soon.

No… I don’t think that robots or some Artificial Intelligence (AI) is going to kill off all personal trainer jobs. Lets not jump off the deep end.

I do think however that the shift needs to be from the traditional personal trainer shifting focus to just providing workouts and ‘counting reps’ in workouts. To, being holistic in giving clients whats needed for optimal results.

And, this isn’t even us touching on the huge changes when it comes to face-to-face training and the ability to grow your online business… Which means the old business model that has us stuck in the “time-for-money trap” can be broken.

Ultimately giving you greater freedom, income and ability to impact more people with your passion, knowledge and expertise.

Ask all your questions below, as Charles and I will follow up shortly with a round 2 episode to go deeper in all the topics we touch on.

In it, he is going to pull back the curtain of his business and share with you:

– why it’s the scariest and greatest time in the fitness industry to open and run a gym
– how the fitness business model has drastically changed throughout the years and if you are not changing with it, you will be out of it soon
– 5 steps to not only survive but dominate your marketplace
– the turning point in his career that will help you take your business to the next level
